The Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) Apna Ghar Awaas Yojana 2025 witnessed overwhelming demand on September 5, 2025, when all 152 newly-added flats were booked within an hour of being opened for sale.
The fresh inventory included:
76 Middle-Income Group (MIG) flats in Lok Nayak Puram, Block D
76 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) flats in Narela, Sector A1-A4, Block G
Bookings were offered on a first-come, first-served basis with deposits of ₹4 lakh for MIG flats and ₹50,000 for EWS flats. Officials estimate the latest round will generate around ₹100 crore in revenue.
DDA pointed to its revised marketing and sales strategy, closely overseen by Lieutenant-Governor V.K. Saxena, who also chairs the authority. Interestingly, these same flats in Lok Nayak Puram and Narela had been floated multiple times since 2023 but previously found little traction.
Originally launched on May 20, 2025, Apna Ghar Awaas Yojana offers around 7,500 ready-to-move-in flats across four categories—EWS, LIG, MIG, and HIG. Locations include Narela, Lok Nayak Puram, and Siraspur for affordable units, while HIG options are spread across selected upscale sectors.
To meet continued demand, the scheme—initially set to end earlier—was extended in August by three months and will now remain open until November 26, 2025.
Alongside affordable flats, DDA also rolled out a premium housing scheme on August 26, 2025, targeting high-income buyers. These units are located in prime neighborhoods such as Vasant Kunj, Alaknanda, Jasola, Dwarka, and Rohini, and will be auctioned through an online e-bidding process. Registrations and earnest money deposits for this category close on September 24, 2025.
To qualify under Apna Ghar Awaas Yojana, applicants must meet the following conditions:
Must be an Indian citizen, 18 years or older
Should not own any residential property in Delhi (individually or jointly)
Income criteria:
EWS: Up to ₹3 lakh per annum
LIG: ₹3–6 lakh per annum
MIG/HIG: Above ₹6 lakh (no upper cap)
The Authority emphasized that all processes are online and transparent, ensuring wider accessibility for Delhi residents. The scheme, according to DDA, is designed to make ready-to-move housing a reality, rather than leaving buyers stuck in under-construction projects.
